Why I bought it

I am always drawn to small pieces that can do more than one job. This Gustavian style stool has the right mix of utility and charm: a light painted frame, a red striped upholstered seat, carved floral detail, and a provenance note that gives it a little more soul than an ordinary footstool.

Condition

How I would use it

Place it under a console, beside a fireplace, at the foot of a chair, or in a dressing room where a small upholstered seat makes the space feel finished. The red stripe adds just enough color without taking over the room.
