What is it? A long, low marble-top table in the Louis XV manner — 64.5 inches wide, carved giltwood base, grey marble top. Works as a coffee table, fireplace bench, or console at the foot of a bed.
Where did it come from? France, early 20th century. Sourced through auction.
Why did I choose it? The scale is what makes it. 64 inches of marble and carved gilt in a room makes a statement that no reproduction can replicate. And 16 inches tall means it works beside seating.
Condition: Good. Marble top intact. Giltwood base shows age-appropriate wear.
Carved giltwood, grey marble top

Curator's note
