What is it? A large 19th century Spanish lebrillo — the wide, low earthenware basin used in Andalusian households for centuries. 27.5 inches across. With original iron staple repairs.
Where did it come from? Spain, 19th century. Sourced through estate.
Why did I choose it? The staple repairs are the provenance. Rather than hiding the cracks, whoever owned this mended it with iron because the bowl was worth keeping. That's a story. That's why I chose it.
Condition: Good. Consistent with age and use. Staple repairs are original and stable.
