An Assembled Collection of Chinese Export Porcelain, Pagoda & Classical Landscape Pattern
China, Export Porcelain, 19th Century
A generous assembled lot of blue and white export porcelain, gathered piece by piece rather than made as a set — which is exactly what gives it character. Most of the collection carries the classic Pagoda pattern, with a handful of Classical landscape pieces mixed in, so the whole group reads as a conversation rather than a matched service. This is the kind of porcelain that looks right stacked loosely in an open cupboard, or pulled apart and used as accent pieces across a table setting — each one doing a little work on its own.
As with most porcelain of this age and use, there's wear throughout: chips, a hairline or two, some repair, and the heavy crazing that simply comes with two centuries of life on a table. None of it is hidden below — buy with eyes open, and expect character rather than perfection.
